The Bantam A Majors were champs at the 2006 Nutcracker Tournament at RMU Island Sports Complex Dec 26-28. Game 1: 1-1 tie vs Arctic Foxes; Game 2: 6-3 loss vs Pgh Predators; Game 3: 3-1 win vs S Hills Panthers 3-1. Campionship: vs. Predators finished in a 3-3 tie & after a scoreless 5 minute overtime period, went to a best of 5 man shootout. The Arrows won the shootout 3-2 with goals by N DeCroo, J Ford, & N Smouse. Goalie C Lee won the game by stopping the last Predator shooter. Armstrong tourney goal scorers were N DeCroo-3, C Bachman-2, C Coccia-2, N Smouse-2, and K Valasek–1; Assists T Crissman-3, Decroo-2, Coccia-2, with Bachman, Ford, J Dipietro, and J Whann 1 each.

The Squirt AA team captured the N. Pgh. Wildcat Winter Shootout Championship by defeating the host team 2-1 in overtime. T. Double scored the game winner on a rebound from a C. Miller shot. L. Gross tallied the other Armstrong goal. Goalie C. Bachman stopped 33 of 34 shots. On the way, the Arrows defeated the Am Pens 8-1, tied the Wheeling Nailers 3-3, dropped a 4-2 decision to the N. Pgh. Wildcats, and beat the Butler Valley Dawgs 6-0. Bachman made 128 saves out of 137 shots for a 93.4% save percentage. Double led the scoring with 9 goals and an assist; C. Miller, 3 goals, 6 assists; D. Davis, 4 goals, 2 assists; J. Oliver, 1 goal, 2 assists; N. Whann, 3 assists, T. Chuba 2 goals, C. Blose and L. Gross adding 1 goal each and N. Grafton 1 assist. The Squirt AA hockey team captured its 3rd tourney championship of the season at the Mt. Lebanon Hockey Assoc. Classic held at RMU Island Sports Center January 11-15. The Arrows rolled through the field undefeated with victories over the Butler Valley Dawgs 4-1, Tri-County Cyclones (Ohio) 8-1, Pittsburgh Aviators 9-0 before their championship game win against the visiting Cyclones 4-0. Goalie Clay Bachman was outstanding with 96.1% save percentage blocking 49 of 51 shots-on-goal through the tournament. Offensively, Dustin Davis led the Arrows with 11 goals, Troy Double and Christian Miller scored 5 times each, with Conner Blose, Luke Gross, Nick Long, and Tanner Chuba tallying once. The assist parade was long as Nick Whann registered 5 helpers, Double - 4, Davis - 3, Gross, Chuba and Miller tallied 2 with Nate Grafton and Jaime Contrael contributing one a piece. The Arrows are currently in second place with a regular season record of 12-1-2 in the Squirt AA division of the Pgh. Amateur Hockey League.
The Armstrong Arrows Squirt AA hockey team started the season with a bang by earning tournament champion honors at the Butler Valley Pre-Season Blast held at The Ice Connection of Pittsburgh September 8-10. The Arrows defeated the Allegheny Badgers (7-2), North Pittsburgh Wildcats (5-3), and Butler Valley Dawgs (3-1) in preliminary action before winning the championship game 8-3 against North Pittsburgh. Defensively, goalie Clay Bachman was outstanding saving 78 of 87 opponent shots during the weekend and was complimented by the fine blue-line play of Nate Grafton, Nick Long, Luke Gross and Nick Whann. Leading the Armstrong offensive attack was Dustin Davis with 9 goals during the tournament, Troy Double and Conner Blose added 4, Josh Oliver 3, Jaime Contrael 2 and Christian Miller 1. Assists were added by Double with 6, Davis 5, Blose 2, Oliver 2, Contrael 1, Nick Whann 2 and Tanner Chuba 1. Strong back-checking and special teams play were the key to the Arrows success.
The Armstrong Arrows Bantam A Major hockey team captured the 2006 “Rock and Roll Cup” tournament championship last weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. The Arrows defeated the North Olmsted Eagles 8-2, North Pittsburgh Wildcats 4-2, and Shaker Heights Raiders 3-2 before defeating the Raiders again in the tournament championship game, 7-0. Goalies Cody Lee and Austin White shared the duties of turning back opponent shots on goal while tournament MVP Nolan Smouse scored 6 goals and added 4 assists on the offensive side. Other Arrow goals were scored by Tyler Crissman - 5, Kevin Valasek - 4, Cody Bachman - 3, Nick Transue - 2, with Jordan Ford and Luke Mitchell each scoring once. Assists were plentiful as Transue led the way with 5, Bachman - 4, Ford, Crissman, Cam Coccia, and Shayne Hennessy - 2. Valasek, Brad Peltz, Zach Stennett and Jake Whann each assisted once. A total team effort that saw many Arrow players compete at their highest level this season.

individual is needed to organize and get the program off the
ground.
